Essence of Romance

It's no wonder so many choose to fire the romance, destroy the unhappiness and then maybe going for a wedding decision:

-- Wood-burning fireplaces
-- A dinner under picturesque sunset skies
-- Out-of-the-way picnic
-- Maybe a gazebo overlooking to the ocean
...
...

Options surely abound! All above listed only a few ideas that come to my mind right now. Oh.. one second, let me tell that I'm not a wedding consultant:) But I wanted to put the fun and excitement back into the planning if you're with that mind;)

We know couples used to stick together for the sake of their kids. Well, here is another one 'very important' reason why you should stay together, a reason more important than the kids;)

Now.

A new study shows that when a couple divorces, the two resultant households use 53% more electricty and 42% more water than the pre-divorce household. Divorce also creates demand for more houses and apartments.

Research found that:

~ One-person households are the biggest consumers of energy, land and household goods, such as washing machines, refrigerators, TVs and stereos per capita.

~ They consume 38% more products, 42% more packaging, 55% more electricity and 61% more gas per capita than four-person households.

~ People living alone create 1.5 tons of waste annually compared with a ton by those in households of four or more.

I can think of lots of good reasons that people should work on their marriages before splitting up, but this isn't one of them.

Why not to make the best of a bad marriage in the name of being environmentally friendly?! Threat your marriage like your credit cards, and don't get divorced...for the sake of the planet!

  1. I know the reason why we stick together. We still love each other very much after 16 years of marriage !

  3. @ Annelies: Congrat's! No doubt the Planet is very pleased about you and your happiness:)

@ Hyderabad: I think if love exists, then surely it overcomes any walls, any difficulties...loving-kindness developing the mental habit of selfness or altruistic love starts 'always' at heart:)

  4. In the old days they used to say "two can live as cheap as one". Guess these statistics bear that out.
