Generous Jupiter

-
I am the member of a Turkey's leading private on-line shopping club, Markafoni. Offers members at a saving of up to 80's percent off. The site, as you may know, is for quality goods of very well-known and/or world famous brands. Last day I was pretty excited to receive e-mail. Was about a gift check to me. So I made up my selection for the following so-beautiful-necklace among many items: very nice mix of crystals and white pearls. This is from a Hong Kong based jewelery company that has opened its first and new store abroad in Istanbul this year. Sometime next week I should receive it from cargo.

As based on invitation, do not hesitate to send me e-mail if you want to become a member. Only for residents in Turkey, of course.

Oh thanks very much to Jupiter; the giver of luck, gifts, expansion and opportunity. It is traveling in my sign, and natural ruler of my significant houses if I have had a burst of luck
since the beginning of current year!!!

Sunny January

-
I think it's been a great first Week One here! How about you? The record-breaking temperatures, and liking the new feel? No, but I am really liking the warm feel:)

Photos above from my zone, taken in and between Erenköy-to-Caddebostan while the central Europe is currently freezing north to south even in Spain where is snow blanketed, it's super hot and sunny days here!

And, there is nothing like holiday present to remind me of holidays past. Second warm feel effect:) I would have to say that they inspired my holidays future from now on.

} Keepsake gift cards handmade by Elena with loving care and beaded, so beautifully designed. I was the lucky to win
Consolation Prize from her very first Christmas giveaway:

} Fantastic -giant size- Christmas stocking kit from Sandi. Would not be nice to hung by the chimney? Oh my, I have to work very hard this year to move in a bigger house with chimney;)

Please take a peek now to learn more about Elena's Designs and Sandi's Legacy of Stitching who made my heart beating so fast when receiving all of them today.

I always believe that
gifts are not found in a surprise package
but

A Moment of Pause

-
''Bushnell, still the philosopher queen of a social scene'' New York Times book review

For sure, I'm going to spend my february with a nose in this book:)

Candace Bushnell is the bestselling author of Sex and the City, Four Blondes, Trading Up and Lipstick Jungle. Tara's Thanksgiving Day giveaway about Bushnell's new book One Fifth Avenue found a way to me after I commented like this:

T: Say what you appreciate most about New York City.

N: What I appreciate most about NYC is that has a meaning ''the clear visible presence of a woman.''

Ahh I really, really miss NYC... deli gibi, like crazy.

~

Quilt. What a happy lovely necessity for warmth! When watching the stars on a summer night, or reading 'One Fifth Avenue' on cold winter day... Of course, it would be nice and romantic when it's shared with someone special;)

In case you haven't heard of Caron, I must tell you: she's the author of two books on quilting, one is America's Pictorial Quilts. Amazingly talented, and endlessly inspirational as you can imagine. Participation in her Thanksgiving Day giveaway made me lucky girl to have Caron's book as seen above. The winning story formed as follows, one question-one reply:

C: THREE things you are MOST thankful for related to quilting.
N:
1) gateway for creativity 2) touching with sweet words 3) values

~

This card makes me cross my fingers harder... crossing my fingers for an escape from the city this weekend to pick some sun. Come weekend come!

Mailed on 9.29.08 from Birmingham, AL (USA)
Received on 1.17.09 in Istanbul (TR)
1+31+30+31+17 =110days spent on the way.

Phew! Easy to spell out, 110 days! A first in my life, to experience such a delay in our mail system. I wish this desperately dated card had a mou
th to tell me where traveled, stayed and how enjoyed until arrives my door;)

Anyhow, Nana Trish's pretty nice creativity is one of those 3-missing cards that belonging to summer exchange I joined. Revised account is now 9/11. Probably other two can come along...

~

Once upon a time, they were young...

It was time to RELEASE some of her stash. Because she wanted to start the year 2009 by paring down her supplies. This and a few more older photos from Darla's stash busting giveaway.

~

Dearest Tara, Caron, Nana and Darla
I would like to

from the heart.

See internet, that's how much I love you. You are classy, my friends too.

Now for some coffee..

I am thankFULL

-
Friday, Saturday... every day is a fun, every day is as sweet as a cupcake:)

Do you remember what is your earliest cupcake memory?

I'm sure it's a
childhood birthday party like everyone else. The best thing I know about cupcakes is that they remind me of happy memories and good times I shared together with my loved ones.

Did you say 'Aaaaawww....' when you first saw these?

Aren't they stunning ornaments. They are really so sweet, so artfully stitched! Wouldn't these add some charm to my tree, or my door above and welcome the sweetness of the season?! Wherever I hang them, they will be sure to attract attention and make
some yummy looking treats as well:)

Our hats off to you Betz!

Her website has plenty of designs that she combines the ancient technique of felting with today's cast-away sweaters to create really 'delightful' pieces and even to help you decorate your best during the holidays season. Her
cupcakes, a true work of art. No doubt you'll become addicted of her delicious space like me!

The holidays are a time of giving, and my holiday
s started a bit earlier with having this Lucky Me moment as I was the winner of her weekly give-away:)

Oh November, November.. you gave me chance for the second time, wow! Sansliymisim da haberim yokmus;)

While I'm going
to find the perfect hanging spot or the perfect tree for these darling ornaments at home, you do not wait to visit Betz's website

I think that a few of us are fortunate to find what we love and what we love to do. I hope everyone finds something they really love and continues to grow with it:)

Old World Cards

-
Oh la la.. Happy day, happy...

These angels in line-up were just waiting for me in my dusty mailbox last day.

Going in deep about it... Red (and also white) double-fold greeting card has an Angel aperture decorated with iris folding in shades of gold, so sweet...
I love this die cut card technique because of the thought and effort put in. The center of the design is typically finished with holographic paper (possibly some ribbons as well) and the result resembles the iris of an eye or a camera. All I can say is that they are her labor of love!

Hand made Angel Christmas cards with Iris folding
are created, beautifully wrapped with a red-heart clip in the center and then mailed by chère Ralitza in Bulgaria.

There would not be any better giveaway for someone who's a lover of Angels! In celebration of her #100 posts, the luck knocked my door:) Thank you so much Ralitza, and all of my best wishes for your continued success in blogging with more more more than 100 posts.

Just feel myself so lucky so happy as I find/meet/write/send/make/work/receive/come cross all what I love in my life.

And, I can't wait to spread holiday cheer with my angels for the loved ones...

''Treat me like an angel, I'll show you heaven.''

A Day Of Smiles

Today, can we talk about the ''beauty''?

Well, what does it mean to you?

To me; beauty is the harmony of mind, body and so
ul. Beauty goes beyond finding its essence in our innerself. It's all about self-expression; individuality through our unique lifestyle and personality, a reflection of harmony between our mind, body and soul.

With
the synergy of advanced technology;) I met someone wonderful, who's really generous and very kind hearted, Cherri, from Texas. She is so special one if you ask me. Why? Even though it's hard to summarize her in a few sentences here, this enough to introduce her: she wants nothing more then for people to feel loved and included. Additionally, she says that everyone is warm with a quilt, literally and figuratively.

You may step into the world of Cherri, who's with nearly twenty years of quilting experience, where her art flirts beauty, and where talent and quality combine to create the art of quilting. So firstly try to find some time yourself, as her page lots of goodies, and even browsing such a delight at least for your eyes;)

I'm so excited I won:) I won a few of the Cherri's giveaways!

Here are my New Three Books, one by one:

(1) Thinking Outside the Block: Book of Sandi Cummings. Teaches to moving up to simple 'transition' units that offer a bridge into the world of contemporary quiltmaking.

(2) New Wave Quilt I: The Japanese artist Setsuko Segawa has selected fifteen American quiltmakers whose work she admires. This book crosses international boundaries to present some of the very best that the Art Quilt movement has to offer. See now a few pages, how infused with the creative spirit:

~Robe for a Dragonrider

~Riverside in Late Autumn

(3) New Wave Quilt II: The Japanese artist Setsuko Segawa introduces the work of top artists from eight countries -not only the US but also Canada, Australia, Japan, UK, France, Germany and Switzerland. I can easily see that each work conveys the artists' deep feeling towards the Art Quilt. What a wonderful contribution to further cultural exchanges and development of modern art in a collection like this, see sample pages:

~Cobble-Stones

~Star-Windows

-Thinking of my future hobby (quilt) projects, sad to say not for the time being, as I'm terribly busy at work- They will be any help for me when making the finest quilts because they guarantee to create astonishing results combined with artful design. What can I say any more, s.i.m.p.l.y. ...

Did you like this card? It's also a Free-a-Bee by Cherri! You can have some fun with these kind of precious cards that her daughter Lizzy created, see Salutations by LizzyHouse.

Cherri,
you express your inner beauty on the outside,
throu
gh your unique personality,
and encourage us to shine.

Warm Hugs:)
