Yeşil Kek

-
I am very sure that green is the most amazing cake color ever!

:: my material list ::

4 eggs
250 gr spinach puree
1 cup sugar
2 cups flour sifted

½ cup virgin olive oil

½ cup milk
1 tbsp vanilla powder
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tbsp lemon juice

½ cup hazelnut
1 cup granulated sugar

:: how i prepare ::

1. steam spinach. remove excess water. puree it in a food processor.

2. beat the eggs with sugar and milk until smooth in the mixer.
3. add oil, lemon and pureed spinach.
4. add sifted flour, baking powder, hazelnut and vanilla. mix them evenly.

5. don't forget to preheat the oven to 350F.

6. grease the cake pan.
7. bake for 25 min.

8. check with a toothpick/or/a fruit knife, insert in the middle to see if it's done. continue bake until it comes out clean.

9. get the cake from the oven. let it cool down aside.
10. sprinkle granulated sugar everywhere of the cake. sometimes I spread whipped cream on it, too.

11. slice it up, and serve as I did in the photographs:)

Its nearly my time for closing light salads and fresh veggies and fruits. None of them are cutting me at dinner. The sun is slow in the sky far earlier even than the day before... the nights cooler... the days changing, and have been shorter almost overnight. I have been thinking about how to colour my gray cloudy days this season that I dislike. Gerçekten sonbaharı sevmiyorum.

One of my september fantasies is flour and to bring the products made from it to the table:) Especially cakes, Yeşil Kek (English: Green cake), how I love to bake it and eat I sat outside to watch the sun set, too perfect! They are great and truly my favorite to remember wonderful summer days we left a while ago.

Well, I have been slowly relishing these days while making cakes in the kitchen as it makes me think about how to bring a 'simple' feeling to my busier days and week ahead.

Yes, I do not cook for everytime. I know it's a truly process for me because there are lots of things that I need to experience -one exception pastries:)

About this Spinach Cake
(Turkish: Ispanaklı Kek), it is just healthy and very easy cake recipe.
This cake doesn't taste like spinach as we used to. Maybe useful one to make children eat it. However a very clever way to hide the spinach and taste and texture!

Have happy green moments even in Fall~~~

  7. Hi Nihal! Woww... I am impressed with your baking skills! I got the impression that you don't like to be around the kitchen much. It's great. Your cake looks really delicious. The green color adds a whole new character to it. I've heard of spinach cake, but have never tried it. I should try your recipe sometime. Thanks for sharing!

  8. Nihal, the spinach cake you've cooked looks so good!
I'd like very much to hold an exhibition in Istanbul: maybe one day it could happen. Moreover, I've never been to Istanbul and that would be a good opportunity of visiting your wonderful town.

  11. @ Pietro: You're more than welcome. Let's make Istanbul your 2nd home, what you say:)

@ Mél: Delicious, Yes. Weird? No! Remember actor is sugar in this cake. Spinach only gives its color to the cake, that's all:)

@ Renata: Si, si, un giorno assolutamente voglio andare in Torino. Devo lavorare tanto. Grazie, grazie siete molto gentile, aspettami per favore.
